A Scout Is Helpful

Join with the Sea Base Alumni & Friends as together we help support the Sea Base camp when life sends larger swells and stiffer winds. SBAFA is organizing an Emergency Relief Fund to provide assistance for unexpected emergencies that might impact the camp, members, or participants. Donations are tax deductible and a great way to help ensure Sea Base can consistently create an ocean of memories for years of future Scouts.

Hurricane Ian - Captain Relief

Sea Base at its core is an adventure about the ocean - and the anchor of these adventures has always been our beloved Captains. Each year, when they are not in the Florida Keys helping Scouts get up close and personal with Snapper and Sea Turtles, many of our Captains store their boats in a marina further North in the Florida mainland. At the end of September - and with Captains settling down after a busy summer - Hurricane Ian struck Florida as a Category 4 hurricane with a direct hit to the marina where much of our fleet were housed. The results of this disaster are still being assessed, with damage to the boats ranging from minor to complete devastation. We are very thankful that our friends were able to avoid personal harm, but they need our help to get their vessels shipshape!

SBAFA is collecting donations for our Emergency Relief Fund to help the Captains get their boats back to sailing the seven seas as part of the 2023 Sea Base fleet. Funds will be organized and shared with the impacted captains on basis of need to help pay for boat repairs and parts.
